The face of the campaign is Byron Bay local Montana Lower who, as quite the trailblazer herself, shares her time between modelling, environmental engineering, eco advocacy, and artistry.
It was while sitting in a makeup chair in a shed on a summer's day that Montana got chatting to Outland Denim founder James Bartle about engineering the world for good and the common ground they shared via a connection to Cambodia.
Having completed her training in Humanitarian Engineering in Cambodia, she was familiar with the culture of the country, but was impressed by the power of combining ‘profit for purpose’ with a worthy cause.
"When I had heard what Outland was doing, I was so inspired,” she said.
Lower was given the opportunity to join the Outland team on a trip to Cambodia to meet the company's team of seamstresses, and contribute some of her knowledge toward the creation of the company's stand-alone sustainable denim laundry.
"The trip was inspirational and really gave me a first hand view of the impact the program Outland was creating," she said.
